Cancer

A heart wrapped in armor

Would you ever lose it for me?

Or would you spend a lifetime

Hiding within your shell

Safe from the hands that long to hold you?

Your soft shell shields you

But your claws can fight too

You know we defend what we love

Even if it means retreating first

Like yin and yang

Opposites align

Soft waves meet unyielding shore

That’s how balance survives

Two spirals intertwined

Picture of six and number nine

Drifting close, then pulling wide

Tied by ocean tides

We can’t define

The moon calls, and you listen

I wonder if you hear me too?
